China and Sri Lanka have deepened their economic and trade cooperation, with China now ranking as Sri Lanka’s second-largest trading partner and source of imports. In the latest reported period, bilateral trade between the two countries surged by over 30 percent year on year, reaching $5.36 billion.
China’s exports to Sri Lanka accounted for $4.97 billion, while imports from Sri Lanka totaled $392 million. This significant growth reflects the strengthening ties and mutual benefits between the two nations.
Adding to this growing partnership, Sri Lanka is set to be the guest country of honor at the upcoming 9th China-South Asia Expo in Kunming, the capital of southwest China’s Yunnan Province. The expo aims to enhance economic collaboration and cultural exchange between China and South Asian countries.
