China Rejects G7s Unwarranted Accusations

China Slams G7’s ‘Unwarranted Accusations’ on Taiwan and Trade

China has firmly rejected the Group of Seven’s repeated criticisms on matters involving Taiwan, the South China Sea, and trade practices, calling the allegations “unwarranted” and a serious interference in its internal affairs.

At a regular press conference on Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun expressed strong opposition to the G7’s statements made during the recent summit.

Guo criticized the G7 for manipulating China-related topics and making baseless remarks on sensitive issues like Taiwan, the South China Sea, and the East China Sea. He accused the group of maliciously slandering China over so-called “market distortions and harmful overcapacity.”

“These claims violate basic norms governing international relations,” Guo said, noting that China has lodged stern representations with the concerned parties.

Emphasizing China’s stance on Taiwan, Guo stated that the greatest threat to peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait comes from separatist attempts to promote “Taiwan independence” and foreign interference. He urged the G7 to uphold the one-China principle, clearly oppose “Taiwan independence,” and support China’s peaceful reunification.

On maritime issues, Guo pointed out that the overall situation in the East China Sea and the South China Sea remains stable due to the collective efforts of regional countries. He called on the G7 to respect the regional consensus, refrain from using maritime issues to sow discord among nations, and stop fueling tensions.

Addressing economic concerns, Guo refuted allegations of China’s “overcapacity” and “market distortion,” dismissing them as false propositions driven by protectionist motives. He claimed that such rhetoric aims to suppress China’s legitimate development and politicize trade issues.

Guo urged the G7 to recognize the prevailing trend of global development, abandon Cold War mentality and ideological biases, cease interfering in China’s internal affairs, stop provoking confrontation, and contribute positively to the international community.
