China Evacuates Citizens from Iran and Israel Amid Conflict

China has evacuated over 1,600 citizens from Iran and several hundred more from Israel amid the ongoing conflict between the two countries, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Thursday.

Speaking at a press briefing, spokesperson Guo Jiakun said China has coordinated closely with its embassies and consulates in Iran, Israel, and neighboring countries to ensure the safe evacuation of its nationals.

“Ensuring the safety of Chinese citizens overseas is our top priority,” Guo stated. “We have been working tirelessly to facilitate their safe return home.”

Guo added that the Foreign Ministry and relevant diplomatic missions will continue efforts to assist the safe transfer and evacuation of Chinese citizens.

The evacuations come amid rising tensions and conflict between Iran and Israel, heightening concerns for the safety of foreign nationals in the region.
