China’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, has called for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Iran amid rising tensions in the Middle East. In an exclusive interview with China Media Group on Thursday, Fu expressed deep concern over the potential escalation of conflict in the region.
“The overwhelming mainstream view of the international community is that both Israel and Iran should immediately implement a ceasefire and protect civilians,” Fu stated.
Highlighting the importance of diplomacy, Fu emphasized that nuclear issues can only be resolved through negotiations. “In this spirit, the UN Security Council needs to take concrete action on these fronts,” he added.
Fu’s remarks reflect China’s commitment to promoting peace and stability through dialogue and international cooperation.
