China’s trade with South Asian countries has soared to nearly $200 billion, doubling over the past decade and marking a significant milestone in regional economic cooperation.
According to data released by the State Council Information Office on June 6, the trade volume between China and South Asia has grown at an average annual rate of 6.3 percent. China has consistently been the largest trading partner for several South Asian nations, including Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The 9th China-South Asia Expo (CSA Expo), held alongside the 29th China Kunming Import and Export Fair, is currently underway in Kunming, the capital of southwest China’s Yunnan Province. Running from June 19 to 24, the event aims to deepen economic ties and promote high-quality cooperation between China and South Asian countries.
The expo features exhibitors and participants from across the region, showcasing advancements in technology, agriculture, and infrastructure. Organizers hope the event will foster new partnerships and investment opportunities that benefit all parties involved.
As trade continues to flourish, experts anticipate further growth and collaboration between China and its South Asian neighbors, contributing to economic development and prosperity in the region.
