The 27th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) concluded with a dazzling Golden Goblet Awards Ceremony on Saturday night. This year, Kyrgyzstan’s drama “Black Red Yellow” claimed the prestigious Best Feature Film award, marking a significant moment for Central Asian cinema.
Chinese filmmaker Cao Baoping was honored with the Best Director award for his comedy-drama “One Wacky Summer,” delighting audiences with its heartfelt storytelling and humor. The Best Screenplay award went to the Polish film “Loss of Balance,” which poignantly explores the struggles of students in acting schools.
Adding to the international collaboration spotlight, “My Father’s Son,” a joint production between China and France, received the Outstanding Artistic Achievement award, showcasing the power of cross-cultural storytelling.
The 27th SIFF kicked off on June 14 in Shanghai, featuring 49 films shortlisted for this year’s Golden Goblet Awards. Over 400 domestic and international films were screened across the city, offering a rich cinematic experience for film enthusiasts.
As the curtains close on this year’s festival, the SIFF continues to cement its place as a significant platform for global filmmakers to showcase their work and celebrate the art of cinema.
