China’s national observatory has renewed a yellow alert as scorching temperatures continue to sweep across several regions of the country.
On Monday, areas including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Jilin, and Xinjiang are expected to experience temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius, according to the National Meteorological Center (NMC).
Some regions may see the mercury soar between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius, with certain localities potentially surpassing 40 degrees Celsius, the NMC reported.
The center has advised residents to take protective measures against the heat, such as avoiding excessive exposure to the sun and staying hydrated.
