China Prepares Grand Military Parade to Mark 80th Anniversary of Victory Over Japanese Aggression

China is gearing up for a grand military parade at Beijing’s Tiananmen Square on September 3 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, will review the troops and deliver a speech during the ceremony.

The parade will showcase China’s latest military advancements, featuring marching formations, armored columns, aerial displays, and cutting-edge combat forces, including unmanned and intelligent equipment. All the equipment on display will be active-duty and domestically produced, highlighting China’s strides in military innovation and technology.

“This has given our military greater confidence in its ability to fight and win,” said Wu Zeke, a senior officer of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission. Wu emphasized the significant progress China has made in developing advanced weapons and equipment, marking a new era in its military capabilities.

In addition to the military showcase, China plans to unveil new lists of national-level anti-Japanese war memorials, renowned heroes, martyrs, and heroic groups who fought during the war.

The commemorative events will be attended by foreign leaders, former political dignitaries, high-level officials, and heads of international organizations. Veterans from the Kuomintang who fought in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression will also be invited to observe the parade. Foreign envoys, military attachés, and international representatives who contributed to China’s victory, or their family members, will join the events as well.

The parade aims to honor the past while demonstrating China’s commitment to peace and its growing role on the global stage.
