Mainland Offers Aid to Taiwan Compatriots Amid Israel iran Conflict

Chinese mainland helps Taiwan compatriots evacuate amid Middle East conflict

The Chinese mainland has pledged to assist in evacuating Chinese nationals, including Taiwan compatriots, caught in the escalating conflict in the Middle East. On Wednesday, officials announced efforts to ensure the safe relocation of those affected by the hostilities between Israel and Hamas.

The Chinese Embassy in Israel issued notices urging Chinese citizens, including residents of Taiwan holding mainland travel passes, to register for evacuation assistance as tensions in the region intensify.

“We have always reached out to affected Taiwan compatriots at the first opportunity to provide necessary assistance, whether in natural disasters like typhoons and earthquakes or during emergency evacuations due to conflicts,” Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said at a press conference.

Already, several Taiwan compatriots have been safely moved to neighboring countries since the fighting began. Affected individuals are encouraged to contact the nearest Chinese embassy or consulate or call the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s 24-hour consular protection hotline at 12308.
