Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Beijing on Thursday. The two leaders discussed ways to deepen mutual trust and enhance cooperation between their countries.
Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized the strong foundation of respect and trust that China and Armenia share. “China is ready to work with Armenia to consolidate mutual trust, deepen cooperation, support the development and revitalization of both countries, and bring greater benefits to the two peoples,” he said.
He also called for practicing true multilateralism and jointly safeguarding the international system with the United Nations at its core, as well as upholding an international order based on international law.
Ararat Mirzoyan expressed Armenia’s commitment to the one-China policy and support for China in safeguarding its core interests. He voiced his willingness to enhance cooperation with China in various fields, including connectivity, economy, and trade.
The meeting highlighted the growing relationship between China and Armenia, aiming to strengthen collaboration and promote shared development.
