Global Attendees Praise China’s Tech Innovations at Summer Davos Forum

At the opening ceremony of the Summer Davos Forum on Wednesday, Chinese Premier Li Qiang delivered a speech emphasizing China’s advancements in technology and science and expressing a strong willingness to collaborate with the global community.

Attendees from around the world shared their insights on Premier Li’s message, highlighting the impact of China’s technological leadership.

“It’s clear that China is a massive leader in forging the way towards new advancements, utilizing AI and other technologies,” said Jasmin Hume, CEO and founder of U.S. AI company Shiru. “I feel really encouraged about the prospects for how other regions can benefit from those advancements and work collaboratively together.”

Joel Ruet, president of The Bridge Tank, emphasized the integration of tech and science with research and development. “The Chinese ecosystem has all this present, has all these integrated in all sectors,” he said. Ruet expects to see open innovation in fields such as green hydrogen, new energy, and new materials. “We hope that the value chain for critical materials remains open as well. It’s open innovation, open value chains that the world requires for its transformation.”

Yen Long from the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Vietnam noted Vietnam’s emerging technology sector and the importance of collaboration within Asia. “I’m very pleased and really excited to look forward to the future where China is truly engaging in collaboration in technology and AI,” she said.

Chris Torrens, chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in China, acknowledged China’s leading position in several technology sectors. “The country has very compelling products and services,” he remarked. “I think the challenge now is for companies and governments in Europe, in particular, to build stronger bridges. European companies have a lot to learn and benefit from.”

The positive responses from global attendees reflect a shared excitement about China’s role in advancing technology and fostering international cooperation.
