President Xi Calls for Unified National Market and High-Quality Marine Economy

Chinese President Xi Jinping has emphasized the importance of building a unified national market and promoting the high-quality development of the marine economy. Speaking at a meeting of the Central Commission for Financial and Economic Affairs (CCFEA), which he heads, President Xi outlined key strategies to drive China’s economic growth.

He stressed that creating a unified national market is essential for establishing a new development pattern and achieving high-quality growth. “Strengthened coordination and cooperation are vital to building synergy in this endeavor,” President Xi said during the meeting.

On the marine economy, President Xi highlighted the need for innovation-driven growth and efficient coordination. He urged efforts to strengthen, optimize, and expand marine industries, enhance ecological protection, and promote global cooperation in areas like marine scientific research and disaster prevention.

The meeting also addressed regulating market practices, emphasizing the need to standardize government procurement and bidding processes, improve fiscal and taxation systems, and foster a fair competitive environment for businesses.

Senior officials including Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Cai Qi, and Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang attended the meeting.
