Mainland taiwan Independence Separatism Greatest Disaster to Island

Mainland Spokesperson Warns Against ‘Taiwan Independence’ Efforts

A mainland spokesperson has strongly criticized Taiwan leader Lai Ching-te’s recent speeches, accusing him of pushing for “Taiwan independence” and jeopardizing peace in the Taiwan Straits.

Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, commented on Wednesday regarding Lai’s “10 lectures on unity.” Chen asserted that Lai’s remarks reveal his intent to rely on foreign forces and use military means to pursue independence.

“Lai’s statements run counter to the desire for peace and development among the people on the island of Taiwan,” Chen said. “He disregards the safety and well-being of Taiwan compatriots.”

Chen labeled Lai as a “peace destroyer” and a “notorious troublemaker,” accusing him of inciting cross-Straits tensions. He claimed that Lai is willing to “sacrifice innocent civilians” by pushing young people into conflict as part of his separatist agenda.

The spokesperson also criticized Lai’s warnings about a supposed military threat from the mainland. “These claims are merely a cover for his aggressive separatist activities,” Chen stated. “His calls to stand with ‘democratic countries’ are an open plea for external interference.”

Emphasizing that “Taiwan independence” separatism poses the greatest disaster to Taiwan, Chen warned that as long as such movements exist, peace in the Taiwan Straits cannot be maintained. “Only by resolutely opposing and effectively curbing separatism can we safeguard genuine peace and ensure that people in Taiwan can live in security,” he said.

Chen reiterated that both sides of the Taiwan Straits belong to one China, and that Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, and Mazu are all part of China’s sacred territory. “The people on both sides are all Chinese,” he noted. “Without ‘Taiwan independence’ separatism, both sides can share peace and pursue development together.”

He concluded by urging Taiwan compatriots to stand against separatism and work together to preserve peace and stability across the Taiwan Straits. “We have the firm will, strong determination, and powerful capability to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Chen affirmed.
