Xi Jinping Encourages Chinese Youth to Lead Reform and Innovation

Chinese President Xi Jinping has called upon the nation’s youth to take the helm in driving reform and innovation, emphasizing their pivotal role in China’s future. In a heartfelt letter addressed to young people from all ethnic groups and backgrounds, including overseas Chinese students, Xi extended his congratulations and warm greetings on behalf of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

Over the past five years, youth and student federations across China have been proactive and dedicated, showcasing the vibrant and upward spirit of a new generation. Xi highlighted the significant contributions these young individuals have made toward building a strong nation and achieving national rejuvenation through Chinese modernization.

He urged the youth to maintain firm ideals and convictions, foster a strong sense of responsibility to the country, and shoulder their historic mission. "Young people have a great role to play," Xi emphasized, encouraging them to make meaningful contributions to the nation’s development.

Party organizations at all levels were called upon to strengthen their leadership in youth work, support youth and student federations, and create favorable conditions for the healthy growth and success of young people. The goal is to empower them to contribute effectively to the country’s progress.

The opening meeting, attended by around 3,000 participants, included prominent figures such as Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee. Shi Taifeng, head of the CPC Central Committee’s Organization Department, read out Xi’s letter to the attendees.

Li Shulei, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, addressed the meeting on behalf of the CPC Central Committee. He emphasized the importance of thoroughly understanding and fully implementing Xi’s instructions to advance China’s youth movement further. "Greater accomplishments can be made in the Party’s work related to youths," Li stated.

The meetings aim to summarize the work of the All-China Youth Federation and the All-China Students’ Federation over the past five years and to outline work plans for the next five years, continuing to inspire and mobilize young people across the nation.
