BEIJING—A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized on Friday that a prolonged crisis in Ukraine serves no one’s interests, urging all parties to seek a peaceful resolution.
Mao Ning, speaking at a press briefing, reiterated China’s objective and consistent stance on the Ukraine conflict: promoting negotiation, ceasefire, and peace. “China is not a party to the Ukraine issue,” Mao stated, “but we support a political settlement to the crisis as early as possible.”
She highlighted China’s commitment to working alongside the international community to foster peace. “In light of the will of the parties concerned, China will continue playing a constructive role toward this end,” Mao added.
China has consistently called for dialogue and diplomacy to address the ongoing conflict, positioning itself as a potential mediator. The remarks come amid rising global concerns over the humanitarian and economic impacts of the crisis.
