Ever wondered how different cultures can come together to shape our modern world? On July 9 and 10, over 400 scholars and experts from across the globe will gather in Qufu City, east China’s Shandong Province, for the 11th Nishan Forum on World Civilizations.
This year’s theme, “Beauty in Diversity: Nurturing Understanding Among Civilizations for Global Modernization,” sets the stage for deep conversations about how diverse cultures can coexist harmoniously in today’s interconnected world. With topics ranging from the origins and future of civilization to the contemporary value of Confucian culture, the forum seeks to explore ideas that matter to all of us.
Aligning with the United Nations’ International Day for Dialogue Among Civilizations, the forum is more than just a conference—it’s a platform for sharing wisdom and finding solutions to global challenges we all face. Whether it’s climate change, social justice, or technological advancement, understanding each other is key.
Participants will engage in two keynote speeches, four high-level dialogues, and eight breakout sessions. With over 220 international scholars and more than 180 domestic experts, it’s a melting pot of ideas and perspectives.
Co-hosted by organizations like the People’s Government of Shandong Province and the International Confucian Association, the event underscores the importance of cultural exchange in building a better future.
For young people in the Global South, events like the Nishan Forum highlight the power of diversity and dialogue. After all, our generation is shaping the future, and understanding each other is the first step towards global modernization.
