China Adds Eight Taiwan Region Entities to Export Control List
The Ministry of Commerce announced on Wednesday that eight entities from China’s Taiwan region have been added to the export control list. According to a spokesperson from the ministry, these companies have deliberately cooperated with “Taiwan independence” separatist forces.
The decision aims to uphold national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as to maintain peace and stability across the Taiwan Straits, the spokesperson stated. The export of dual-use items to these companies will be prohibited, and exporters are strictly forbidden from violating these control measures.
A spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office voiced strong support for the ministry’s decision. “This is a necessary move to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity and maintain peace and stability across the Taiwan Straits,” spokesperson Chen Binhua said.
Chen emphasized that the action serves as a stern warning to “Taiwan independence” separatist forces for their repeated provocative attempts. He noted that since taking office, Lai Ching-te has steadfastly adhered to a “Taiwan independence” stance, openly promoting separatist rhetoric and attempting to pursue independence by relying on external forces and building up military capabilities.
“Certain entities in Taiwan have participated in these activities and supported separatist forces,” Chen added. “Enterprises, groups, and individuals who willingly act as accomplices to ‘Taiwan independence’ separatist forces and are involved in activities aimed at splitting the country or inciting secession will be severely punished according to the law.”
