A spokesperson for the Chinese mainland has strongly criticized the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities over their recent military exercises, stating that such actions cannot alter the inevitable reunification of China.
Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, made these remarks on Wednesday during a press conference in response to inquiries about Taiwan’s recent “Han Kuang 41 exercise.”
“No matter how many ‘exercises’ the DPP authorities conduct, they cannot change the inevitable failure of ‘Taiwan independence’,” Chen stated. He emphasized that the DPP’s actions are escalating tensions across the Taiwan Strait and are an attempt to “seek independence through force.”
Chen warned that these maneuvers undermine peace and stability in the region and jeopardize the safety and well-being of the people of Taiwan. He stressed that “Taiwan independence” is a dead end and that the historical trend toward the reunification of the motherland cannot be stopped.
The spokesperson called for the DPP authorities to cease actions that provoke cross-Strait confrontation and to work towards maintaining harmony and prosperity in the region.
