Chinese Premier Li Qiang Visits Egypt After BRICS Summit

Chinese Premier Li Qiang touched down in Cairo, Egypt, on Wednesday for an official visit aimed at bolstering ties between the two nations.

Prior to his arrival in Egypt, Premier Li attended the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa convened to discuss global economic cooperation.

During his time in Cairo, Li is expected to hold meetings with Egyptian officials to discuss strengthening partnerships in trade, investment, and infrastructure projects.

Egypt, as a pivotal country in the Middle East and North Africa region, has been deepening its relationship with China in recent years, aligning with China’s Belt and Road Initiative to enhance connectivity and economic collaboration.

Premier Li’s visit underscores China’s commitment to fostering strong ties with countries in the Global South, promoting development and mutual benefits.
