New award ceremony materials for the upcoming 2025 Chengdu World Games were unveiled on Tuesday, showcasing a vibrant fusion of Sichuan’s rich cultural heritage and modern sportsmanship. The collection includes the “Shu Bao” and “Jin Zai” Sichuan Opera costume ornaments, medal trays, bamboo-weaving medal boxes, podium designs, and ceremony costumes.
The designs artfully incorporate local elements such as the Sun Bird and blooming hibiscus motifs adorning the surface of the medal trays, which also feature the World Games’ patterned velvet lining. The medal boxes are crafted using traditional bamboo-weaving techniques, an intangible cultural heritage, reflecting the region’s dedication to preserving its ancient crafts.
The podiums prominently display the World Games logo, symbolizing the unity of global athletes gathering in Chengdu. Organizers aim to offer participants and spectators an immersive experience that celebrates both athletic excellence and the unique charm of Sichuan culture.
The 2025 World Games are set to take place from August 7 to 17 in Chengdu, southwest China’s Sichuan Province, promising an unforgettable event that bridges tradition and modernity.
