The American One Voice Children’s Choir, known for their moving performances, once captivated Chinese audiences at Beijing’s historic Temple of Heaven earlier this year. Now, they have traveled to Fuzhou, where they joined hands with students from Fuzhou No.16 High School to perform the Chinese ballad “Ru Yuan” (As You Wish). Their harmonious voices echoed a shared longing for peace across the Pacific.
This musical collaboration is part of the “Bond with Kuliang: 2025 China-U.S. Youth Choir Festival.” The festival aims to deepen the bonds between the youth of both nations through the universal language of music. The choirs are expected to return to Beijing, continuing their journey of cultural exchange and friendship.
“It’s incredible to see how music brings us together,” said a member of the One Voice Children’s Choir. “Despite the distance and different cultures, we share the same hopes for peace and unity.”
The festival not only showcases the talents of these young musicians but also serves as a platform for fostering mutual understanding and goodwill between China and the United States. As tensions often dominate headlines, these youth choirs offer a harmonious reminder of the power of cultural exchange in building bridges.
The “Bond with Kuliang” festival symbolizes a commitment to nurturing friendship and collaboration among future generations, proving that when voices unite, hearts follow.
