Chinese and American Youth Unite in Song for Peace on Kuliang Mountain
In a heartfelt display of unity, 26 young people from the Chinese mainland and the United States came together on Thursday on Kuliang Mountain in Fuzhou. Their voices harmonized as they sang John Lennon’s iconic peace anthem, “Imagine,” echoing through the historic mountain’s woods.
The performance was a highlight of the “Bond with Kuliang: 2025 China-U.S. Youth Choir Festival,” an event aimed at fostering friendship and understanding between the youth of both nations. As the melody carried their shared vision of peace, the harmonies transcended cultural differences, resonating with a message of hope and global unity.
“Music is a universal language that brings people together,” said one of the participants from the United States. “Singing alongside our friends from the Chinese mainland has been an incredible experience that I’ll cherish forever.”
The festival provided a platform for young singers to connect, share their love for music, and promote peace. Kuliang Mountain, with its rich history and serene environment, served as the perfect backdrop for this meaningful exchange.
“Joining voices with American youth symbolizes our desire for harmony and a brighter future,” a participant from the Chinese mainland expressed. “Through music, we can overcome any barriers.”
The “Bond with Kuliang” festival not only celebrated musical talent but also emphasized the importance of cultural exchange in building mutual understanding. As the final notes of “Imagine” faded, the message was clear: together, the youth can imagine and strive for a world united in peace.
