Iti Council Member Calls for Harmony Through Theater Video Poster

ITI’s Lloyd Nyikadzino Advocates for Global Harmony Through Theater

“No culture is at the periphery, and no culture is superior. We should live in harmony,” declared Lloyd Nyikadzino, Executive Council Member of the International Theatre Institute (ITI), during an interview at the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting in Beijing on Friday.

Nyikadzino emphasized the transformative power of theater as a critical tool that can influence both nations and individuals. Highlighting the importance of cultural exchange, he said, “Every culture is unique and different—we cannot be the same. But the issue is to find common ground, a place where we can exchange and interact.”

He believes that through theater, people from diverse backgrounds can connect and understand each other better, fostering a sense of global unity. Nyikadzino’s call to action encourages young people around the world to embrace the arts as a means to promote peace and harmony.
