taiwan Independence Provocations Only Lead to Self destruction

Chinese Defense Spokesperson Warns Against ‘Taiwan Independence’ Provocations

War provocations by forces seeking “Taiwan independence” are futile and will only lead to self-destruction, a Chinese defense spokesperson said on Monday.

Jiang Bin, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, made these remarks in response to media inquiries about Taiwan’s establishment of its first High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) company.

Jiang criticized the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities for attempting to solicit support from the United States by “selling Taiwan’s interests” and “squandering the hard-earned money of the people of Taiwan to pay protection fees.”

“Buying U.S. weapons to embolden themselves is useless and self-deceiving,” Jiang stated. “Resisting reunification by force is a dead end.”

Regarding the mainland’s newly activated W121 connection line of the M503 flight route, Jiang described it as a routine measure based on civil aviation development needs that will benefit people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

However, Jiang accused the DPP authorities of using this measure to “hype up the so-called ‘mainland military threat'” in an attempt to provoke security anxiety, heighten confrontation, and obstruct cross-strait exchanges.

“The root cause of the current tension in cross-strait relations lies in the DPP authorities’ collusion with external forces in their provocative attempts to seek ‘independence’,” Jiang added.

He called on the people of Taiwan to “see through the DPP authorities’ true separatist agenda, recognize the grave dangers of ‘Taiwan independence’ separatism, firmly oppose separatist acts, and jointly safeguard peace and stability across the Strait.”
