Record Number of Global Exhibitors Set to Join China’s Supply Chain Expo

The third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), happening from July 16 to 20, is gearing up to welcome a record-breaking number of international participants. This surge reflects the world’s growing interest in tapping into the Chinese market.

Over 651 enterprises and institutions from 75 countries, regions, and international organizations will be part of the expo. Impressively, foreign exhibitors make up 35% of the total, with half hailing from Europe and the United States. When you add in over 500 upstream and downstream partners, the total number of participating companies is expected to hit 1,200.

What’s catching everyone’s eye is the significant increase in U.S. exhibitors. Their numbers have grown by 15% compared to the previous expo, keeping the U.S. as the largest group among international participants. Even more striking, 60% of these American exhibitors are Fortune Global 500 companies.

Among the newcomers, more than 230 companies will be joining the expo for the first time. Tech enthusiasts will be excited to know that NVIDIA, the U.S. chip giant, is making its debut at the event. Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of NVIDIA, will attend the opening ceremony and related activities on Wednesday, marking his third visit to the Chinese mainland this year.

Organizations like the American Chamber of Commerce in China, the U.S. Soybean Export Council, and the U.S. Grains Council are eager to deepen investment and cooperation with China’s booming economy and innovation scene. Li Xingqian, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), emphasized, “The essence of China-U.S. economic and trade relations lies in mutual benefit.” He added that fostering cooperation serves the shared interests of industries in both countries.

Yang Mi, Director of the General Office of the CCPIT, highlighted that exhibitors at the expo are not competitors but collaborators. “They’re not stealing the cake from each other but making the cake together,” she said.

This year’s expo is set to leverage cutting-edge technologies like big data and artificial intelligence. These tools aim to help companies “find friends” more efficiently and maximize collaboration opportunities throughout the event.
