Zheng Qinwen Eyes Strong Comeback in Future Following Elbow Surgery

Zheng Qinwen Eyes Strong Comeback After Successful Elbow Surgery

Chinese tennis star Zheng Qinwen announced on social media that she has successfully undergone surgery on her right elbow and is now on the road to recovery.

“During recent training sessions and competitions, I have been consistently bothered by pain in my right elbow,” Zheng shared. “Although I persisted through interventions, the impact of the pain persisted. After diagnosis by elbow specialists, they recommended minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery on my right elbow to thoroughly resolve the issue.”

She continued, “After careful discussion with my team, we decided that surgery was the best course. I completed the surgery yesterday; it went very smoothly, and I am in recovery.”

Zheng emphasized her determination to return stronger: “In the coming period, I will focus my efforts on rehabilitation training, striving to return to the court at 100 percent as soon as possible. This brief adjustment is for a stronger comeback in the future. Thanks, everyone, for your support and patience. Please wait for me to return to full strength; we will meet on the court.”

The 20-year-old rising star suffered an early exit at Wimbledon and recently withdrew from a Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) event in Washington. Earlier this season, Zheng reached a career-high ranking of World No. 19 in the WTA singles rankings.

Fans around the world are eagerly anticipating her return to the court, hopeful that she will continue her ascent in the tennis world.
