In 2025, journalists and media representatives from Europe, the US, and Australia gathered in Jingdezhen, the “Porcelain Capital of China,” for the Belt and Road Journalists Forum. Together, they explored a thousand-year legacy of porcelain craftsmanship and centuries of global trade that have connected cultures worldwide.
During the forum, each guest painted a symbol of their home country on a single white porcelain plate. These individual artworks were then fired in one kiln, leaving a lasting mark of international friendship. The collaborative creation symbolized unity and the blending of diverse cultures.
“It’s incredible how art transcends boundaries,” said a reporter from Europe. “By sharing our cultural symbols, we’ve built bridges between our nations.”
The event highlighted the role of Jingdezhen in global cultural exchange and underscored the importance of mutual understanding in today’s interconnected world. Participants departed with not only handcrafted mementos but also newfound connections forged through creativity and collaboration.
