President Xi Jinping Welcomes 16 New Ambassadors to China

Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed 16 new ambassadors to China during a ceremony in Beijing on Friday. The envoys, representing countries from around the world, presented their credentials and were warmly received by President Xi.

The new ambassadors hail from Vietnam, Panama, Dominica, Albania, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Angola, Egypt, Nicaragua, Iran, Chile, Ukraine, Benin, the United States, Israel, and South Sudan.

President Xi also received Nurlan Yermekbayev, the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

During the ceremony, President Xi conveyed his best wishes to the leaders and people of the ambassadors’ respective countries. He encouraged them to gain a deep understanding of China and to work towards strengthening cooperation between their nations and China.

“China cherishes its friendships around the globe and is committed to enhancing cooperation based on mutual respect, equality, mutual benefit, and win-win collaboration,” President Xi said. “In these times of global change and challenges, it’s vital for countries to unite, overcome differences, and focus on a shared future for humanity.”

He highlighted China’s ongoing efforts toward national rejuvenation and modernization, noting that the country’s economy continues to develop steadily.

President Xi also noted the significance of this year, marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, as well as the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.

“China stands ready to work with all countries to firmly safeguard the international system with the UN at its core and the international order underpinned by international law,” he stated.
