A vibrant series of cultural exchange events between China and Latin America recently unfolded in Peru and Brazil, fostering mutual understanding and deepening cultural connections among nations.
On November 6, the Forum on Dialogue between the Civilizations of China and Latin America and the Caribbean was held in Lima, Peru. The event brought together over 150 political leaders, scholars, and business representatives from China, Peru, Argentina, and more than 10 other Latin American countries. Centered around the theme “Civilizational Heritage and Modern Development,” participants engaged in insightful discussions aimed at promoting cultural exchanges, preserving heritage, and exploring cooperative paths toward modernization.
In conjunction with the forum, Lima also hosted the launch ceremony of the China Hour TV program and China Audiovisual Month. The program is set to feature a diverse array of high-quality Chinese audiovisual content, including popular series like The Three-Body Problem, Minning Town, and The Tale of Rose. Attendees were treated to the Latin American debut of the Spanish edition of The Three-Body Problem, a live dubbing performance, and the international premiere of A Bird’s Eye View of New Chongqing. Additionally, a captivating video exhibition titled “New Chongqing in Light and Shadow” showcased the dynamic blend of tradition and modernity in one of China’s rapidly developing cities.
Meanwhile, in Brazil, the photo album and exhibition “Beautiful China, Beautiful Brazil” was unveiled in Rio de Janeiro. This event highlighted the natural beauty, rich history, and cultural landscapes of both nations, emphasizing their economic ties and collaborative achievements. The exhibition offered a visual journey that celebrated the deepening friendship and cooperation between China and Brazil.
On the following day, the University of São Paulo hosted an engaging exchange activity attended by over 200 students, teachers, and guests. The event focused on strengthening people-to-people exchanges between China and Brazil, providing a platform for youths to share perspectives and cultural insights. An accompanying exhibition shed light on Brazilian youths’ views on China, further bridging cultural understanding between the two countries.
These events collectively underscore the growing importance of cultural dialogue and cooperation between China and Latin American countries. By embracing shared heritage and fostering open communication, they pave the way for enriched relationships and a more interconnected global community.
