‘The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping,’ a multilingual television program showcasing ancient Chinese wisdom cited by President Xi Jinping, has started airing on Peruvian media outlets. The launch coincided with President Xi’s visit to Lima for the 31st APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting.
The third season of the Spanish-language version of the show highlights themes like cultural heritage, ecological civilization, poverty alleviation, and mutual learning. It delves into ancient Chinese stories and philosophies, reflecting President Xi’s deep appreciation for China’s rich history and his vision for the future.
Peruvian President Dina Boluarte welcomed the program’s debut in Peru, emphasizing its role in strengthening the friendship between China and Peru. “This program serves as a bridge for our people, especially the youth, to better understand China’s rich history and philosophy,” she said in a video message during the launch ceremony, attended by nearly 200 guests from various sectors.
Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president of China Media Group, highlighted the recent opening of the Chancay Port as a symbol of the growing cooperation between the two nations. “The vision of ‘From Chancay to Shanghai’ has become a reality, showcasing the bright future of our mutually beneficial relationship,” he remarked.
Both leaders expressed hope that the airing of ‘The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping’ in Peru will enhance mutual understanding and cultural exchange between China and Peru, adding new chapters to the legacies of both Chinese and Inca civilizations.
