China peru Cultural Exchange Event Held in Lima

China and Peru Celebrate Cultural Exchange in Lima Ahead of APEC Summit

In a vibrant celebration of cultural ties, China and Peru hosted a cultural exchange event on Friday in Lima, the capital city hosting the 31st APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting. Nearly 200 attendees from Peru’s political, economic, cultural, academic, and media sectors gathered to strengthen the bond between the two nations.

The event was a collaborative effort between China Media Group (CMG), the Office of Strategic Communication and Press Secretary of the Peruvian President’s Government, and the National Institute of Radio and Television of Peru.

Peruvian President Dina Boluarte, in a video address, highlighted the deep-rooted friendship between the two ancient civilizations. “Peru and China share profound ties; our peoples are brothers and friends,” she stated. “Our exchanges and cooperation contribute to the prosperity and development of multiculturalism around the world.”

CMG President Shen Haixiong emphasized the importance of cultural collaboration in his speech. He noted that projects like the feature film “Historias de ciudades hermanadas: Beijing y Lima,” CGTN’s “Beauty of Shared Arts” series in “Dialogues among Civilizations,” and the upcoming series “Mutual Learning between Chinese and Peruvian Civilizations” are significant steps towards deepening cultural understanding.

During the event, CMG established new partnerships with Peru’s National Publishing Group, the University of San Martin de Porres, and the National Center for Higher Studies of Peru. These collaborations aim to promote news exchanges, academic dialogue, and joint research initiatives.

The cultural exchange event reflects the growing relationship between China and Peru, fostering mutual respect and understanding as both nations look forward to the future while honoring their rich histories.
