The 12th Global Video Media Forum opened on Tuesday in Quanzhou City, located in southeast China’s Fujian Province. Nearly 200 representatives from 87 media organizations across over 60 countries and regions gathered to discuss the evolving role of video media in cultural exchanges and the integration of artificial intelligence in media production.

This year’s forum places a significant emphasis on pressing global issues such as poverty reduction, agricultural modernization, green initiatives, and sustainability. These topics are critical to countries in the Global South, aiming to foster collaboration and share innovative solutions.

At the opening ceremony, a joint initiative on media cooperation among countries of the Global South was launched. This initiative aims to strengthen ties between media organizations, facilitate knowledge exchange, and promote mutual understanding through collaborative projects.

The forum provides an essential platform for media professionals to explore how advancements in AI can enhance video media production and contribute to more effective communication across cultures.
