A mesmerizing dance drama is set to debut at Beijing’s Poly Theatre, transporting audiences through 400 years of Chinese history. The performance unveils the captivating stories behind the Dazu Rock Carvings and the masterful artisans who crafted them.
The Dazu Rock Carvings, a UNESCO World Heritage site, consist of intricate sculptures dating back to the 9th century. This production shines a spotlight on the 46 named artisans from the Dazu inscriptions, giving voice to the once-unsung heroes of Chinese art.
Presented by the China Oriental Performing Arts Group, the performance celebrates the enduring legacy of these master sculptors. Through dynamic choreography and evocative storytelling, the dancers bring to life the passion and dedication that carved an indelible mark on human civilization.
