Inspired by the ancient Confucian belief that “knowledge comes from books and the accumulation of experience,” the Caravan Class takes learning beyond textbooks and lectures. Students embark on journeys to historical and cultural sites, engaging directly with local communities and immersing themselves in diverse traditions.
“The Caravan Class allows us to see and feel the history and culture we’ve only read about,” says Li Ming, a third-year student participating in the program. “It’s a transformative experience that deepens our understanding.”
Much like Confucius and his disciples who traveled to spread wisdom and learn from others, these modern scholars are cultivating knowledge through exploration. The program emphasizes critical thinking and cultural appreciation, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
