At 90 years old, Chan Iok Seng has witnessed the evolution of boxing in Macao like no one else. For over six decades, he’s been molding fighters, instilling in them the discipline and passion required to succeed in the “squared circle.”
Now, the torch is being passed to a new generation. With a degree freshly in hand, Alvin Salinas is setting aside the traditional career path to pursue a dream: becoming a true boxing legend and bringing glory to Macao.
Guiding Alvin on this journey is his coach, former Asian champion Ng Kuok Kun, known in the ring as “The Macao Kid.” Having achieved success himself, Ng understands the sacrifices necessary to reach the top and is dedicated to helping his protégé navigate the challenging path ahead.

The bond between these three generations is strengthened by a shared goal. “Boxing isn’t just a sport; it’s a way of life,” says Chan, whose eyes still light up when he talks about the ring.
