Initially joining a cattle-raising initiative supported by the East Asia Poverty Reduction Cooperation Pilot Project, Sile faced immense challenges. Due to limited technological knowledge, her cattle frequently fell ill, causing her great concern and threatening her livelihood.
Refusing to give up, Sile sought out training programs to improve her breeding skills. Recognizing the constraints of her limited land, she maximized her backyard space by cultivating vegetables. This not only provided fresh produce for her family but also a modest income from local markets.
With encouragement and support from the project team, Sile ventured into high-temperature mushroom cultivation. Embracing this innovative approach, she dedicated herself to learning the necessary techniques. The results were remarkable. The mushrooms thrived, and Sile’s success did not go unnoticed. Her journey from struggling cattle farmer to successful mushroom cultivator became an inspiration to others in her community.
