Bridging Opportunities: Chen Tong Connects Hong Kong Youth to the Greater Bay Area

Chen Tong, the secretary general of the Hong Kong Students’ Association of Canton, is on a mission to open doors for young people from Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR). Through her leadership, the association has become a vital bridge between Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland, particularly within the dynamic Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

“We're creating pathways for students to explore new horizons,” Chen said. “By connecting them with internships and career opportunities, we're helping them build a future that spans across the Greater Bay Area.”

The Greater Bay Area, encompassing major cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, is a hub of innovation and economic growth. Chen's organization facilitates exchanges, workshops, and networking events, allowing Hong Kong youth to engage with industries ranging from technology to finance.

One of the success stories is Alex Wong, a university student from Hong Kong who landed an internship at a tech startup in Shenzhen. “The experience was transformative,” Alex shared. “I gained valuable skills and made connections that have set me on a promising career path.”

Chen believes that such opportunities not only benefit individual students but also strengthen ties across the region. “By fostering collaboration and understanding, we're contributing to the shared prosperity of the Greater Bay Area,” she noted.

The association continues to expand its initiatives, aiming to support more young people in navigating the diverse opportunities available. With leaders like Chen at the helm, the future looks bright for students eager to make their mark in the region.
