The death toll from an Israeli airstrike on a residential area in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza Strip, has climbed to 87, according to Gaza-based health authorities on Sunday.
Among the survivors is Ahmed Al-Hajin, a local resident who witnessed the devastating attack near a mosque in the heart of Beit Lahia. “The bombing was relentless,” Ahmed recounted. “Our civil defense teams are working with outdated tools. They lack the equipment needed to rescue people buried under the rubble.”
Displaced due to the intense bombardment, Ahmed expressed deep concern for his community. “My friends and neighbors are still trapped beneath the ruins of their homes,” he said.
The attack has left the community in shock, as residents grapple with the loss of loved ones and the destruction of their homes. The lack of adequate rescue equipment has hindered efforts to save those still trapped.
As tensions escalate, the people of Beit Lahia are calling for immediate assistance to aid in rescue operations and provide relief for displaced families.
