Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — At just 24 years old, engineer Abdullah Alabbad is already making significant strides in the burgeoning partnership between Saudi Arabia and China. Working with the China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) on the Saudi Aramco Corporate Academy project, Alabbad is among a new generation of Saudis embracing international collaboration.
“CRCC emphasizes talent development and provides numerous job opportunities,” Alabbad remarks. “I’ve not only mastered professional modeling software but also enhanced my project management skills.”
The cooperation comes at a pivotal time. In January 2024, Saudi Arabia officially joined BRICS, a significant move that Alabbad believes will unlock immense potential for future collaborations in energy, infrastructure, smart cities, and large-scale construction projects.
“Our membership in BRICS opens doors for deeper partnerships,” he says. “I’m excited to contribute to the future of China-Saudi cooperation.”
For many young Saudis like Alabbad, the alliance presents opportunities to learn, grow, and participate in transformative projects that shape their nation’s future.
