South Africans are expressing excitement over the growing cooperation within the BRICS nations, following the 16th BRICS Summit held in Kazan, Russia, from October 22 to 24.
“South Africa has had many benefits from the BRICS mechanism,” said Nokukhanya Khanyi Zulu. “More South African products have been exported to other countries, namely South African wine, which is growing in popularity, and rooibos tea.”
Locals are eager to see increased collaboration in areas such as culture, education, trade, technology, and tourism. The prospects of deeper ties are stirring optimism among the youth.
“Confucius Institutes provide good opportunities for South Africans to learn Chinese and study in China,” noted Clea Schultz Mofokeng.
As BRICS cooperation strengthens, South Africans are hopeful for expanded horizons and opportunities that will shape a brighter future.
