Meet Moraima Ordoñez, a Mexican student with a passion for bridging cultures. Currently pursuing her master’s degree in Chinese law at Peking University, Moraima’s fascination with Chinese society and culture began in her teenage years.
During her college years in Mexico, she conducted research on laws related to the protection of women’s rights in both Mexico and China. Facing a lack of information available in Spanish, she decided to immerse herself in Chinese culture to learn more.
Since arriving in China, Moraima has participated in several China-Mexico friendship projects. Through these experiences, she has gained a new understanding of Chinese modernization and discovered cultural similarities between the two countries.
Looking ahead, she hopes that the upcoming APEC meeting in Peru will focus on women’s rights and interests. Moraima believes that such international platforms are crucial for advancing gender equality worldwide.
