Heavy rains have compounded the already desperate situation for refugees in Gaza. On the beach west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, relentless downpours have caused rising tides to sweep away the tents that many displaced families called home. These refugees, many of whom have been forced to relocate multiple times, now find themselves with nowhere to turn.
Umm Ahmed, a mother and refugee, recounted the harrowing experience to CGTN. “My children nearly drowned in the sea,” she said. “Almost all our belongings have been destroyed. There is no place for us. We had moved to the beach. Where do we go now?” With soaring prices, many are left without basic necessities—food, clothing, and blankets are scarce.
The loss of shelters has left countless families exposed to the elements. The community is grappling with the stark reality of homelessness amid harsh weather conditions. The urgent need for aid and support grows as the situation worsens.
