Guatemala, a nation rich in Mayan heritage, is located in the southern part of North America. With a population of nearly 19 million, its cultural roots run deep.
Claudia Méndez Arriaza, a prominent Guatemalan journalist, recently attended an academic seminar in China. During her visit, she toured several cities and was captivated by China’s ancient history and vibrant culture.
"China’s history spans thousands of years, and its cultural heritage is incredible," Méndez Arriaza shared. "But what impressed me most is how quickly it has modernized while preserving its traditions."
She believes that others should learn more about China’s journey toward modernization. "China’s development experience is something that should be shared with more countries around the world," she said. "There’s so much we can learn from their progress."
Méndez Arriaza hopes to foster greater understanding between Guatemala and China, encouraging cultural exchanges and sharing valuable insights on development.
