When Stephanie Rachell Andaluz Almandoz Ramos left Portugal to pursue her PhD in biomedicine, she didn’t anticipate finding a second home in Macao. Now studying at the University of Macau, Ramos feels embraced by the city’s vibrant multicultural environment.

“The teaching environment here provides great convenience for foreign students like me,” Ramos shared. “Macao brings together people from different cultural backgrounds, making my academic experience so much more colorful.”

The fusion of East meets West in Macao has not only enriched her studies but also broadened her perspectives. With the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Ramos sees a surge of opportunities emerging in the region.

“The Greater Bay Area has opened doors for countless talents to study and work here,” she noted. “It’s exciting to be in a place that’s growing and evolving so rapidly.”

Ramos encourages others who are curious about the region to visit Macao. “Whether it’s for study, work, or collaboration, there’s so much you can achieve here,” she said enthusiastically.

As for her future plans, Ramos intends to stay in Macao after completing her degree. “I’ve found endless opportunities here,” she smiled. “It’s a place where I can see myself growing personally and professionally.”

For many like Ramos, Macao isn’t just a city; it’s a gateway to new horizons filled with possibilities.
