Cameroonian Student Explores Beijing’s Vibrant New Year Goods Fair

Shopping for the New Year is an essential tradition for many in China as the Spring Festival approaches. The 29th Beijing New Year Goods Fair is in full swing at the National Agricultural Exhibition Center, offering visitors a vibrant array of products from hundreds of shops.

Among the throngs of excited shoppers, international student Jenny Evindi Andrea Avom from Cameroon immersed herself in the festive atmosphere. Wandering through stalls brimming with traditional decorations, snacks, and handicrafts, Jenny experienced firsthand the rich cultural heritage of the Chinese New Year.

“It’s amazing to see how people come together to celebrate,” Jenny shared. “The colors, the sounds, the energy—it’s all so lively and welcoming.”
