Beijing’s streets buzzed with excitement as locals took on questions from around the world in CGTN’s new “Ask China” social media campaign. The initiative invites people globally to send their queries about China, covering topics from the economy and daily life to culture and film.
CGTN reporter Wang Tao selected some of the most intriguing questions and headed into the heart of Beijing. Stopping passersby, Wang presented the international inquiries, giving residents a chance to share their perspectives directly.
“It’s fascinating to hear what people abroad are curious about,” said Li Mei, a university student who participated. “It’s a great opportunity to share our experiences and break down stereotypes.”
The campaign connects individuals worldwide, fostering understanding and dialogue. By leveraging social media platforms and CGTN’s extensive Global Stringer network across over 100 countries, “Ask China” bridges gaps and showcases the voices of everyday people.
Participants addressed a diverse range of topics, offering insights into China’s rapid economic development, rich cultural heritage, and the nuances of daily life in the bustling metropolis.
“I hope our answers help people understand China better,” said Chen Wei, a local shop owner. “It’s important for us to communicate and learn from each other.”
“Ask China” continues to welcome questions from international friends, aiming to create a more connected and informed global community.
