As the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2025 approaches, international students in China are sharing their vibrant experiences in cultural exchange, emphasizing the crucial role of youth in building a shared future. Set to take place from March 25 to 28 in Boao, south China’s Hainan Province, this year’s forum centers on the theme “Asia in the Changing World: Towards a Shared Future.”
Students from Malaysia, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, and Vietnam have been actively participating in intercultural activities, fostering dialogue and understanding among diverse cultures. Vietnamese student Do Pham Ngoc Die fondly recalls her involvement in the “Global Village” event at Tsinghua University, where students donned traditional attire and shared their heritage through music and food.
“Cross-cultural communication helps us break down barriers and enhance mutual understanding,” said Do. “It fosters a stronger sense of identity and connection among people from different backgrounds.”
The Boao Forum aims to focus on development, encourage dialogue, explore innovative formats, and value tangible outcomes, promoting international cooperation. The experiences shared by these young students underscore the forum’s objectives, highlighting how youth engagement in cultural exchanges can contribute to global harmony.
As the world navigates rapid changes, the voices and actions of the younger generation become ever more significant. Through events like the Boao Forum and the “Global Village,” young people are leading the way in bridging cultural divides and building a more inclusive future.
