Young Asian Voices Champion Green Development Ahead of Boao Forum
The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2025 is set to take place from March 25 to 28 in Boao, south China’s Hainan Province. Under the theme “Asia in the Changing World: Towards a Shared Future“, this year’s event aims to focus on development, foster dialogue, explore innovative solutions, and drive tangible outcomes to promote international cooperation.
In anticipation of the conference’s discussions on sustainability, young people across Asia are voicing their commitment to green development and eco-friendly practices. Among them is Adel Baktygulova, a student from Kyrgyzstan studying at Tsinghua University. She believes that youth can make a significant impact through simple daily actions.
“By reducing waste, saving energy, and remembering to turn off lights when we leave a room, we can contribute to a healthier planet,” Baktygulova shared. “International students in China have a unique opportunity to engage in cross-cultural exchanges on green energy, sparking fresh ideas and new sustainability initiatives.”
The engagement of young people highlights the growing importance of environmental consciousness in Asia. As the BFA Annual Conference approaches, their voices add a valuable perspective to the global conversation on sustainable development.
