Russian Student Explores Beijing’s Culture: From Peking Duck to Hutong Streets

Russian student Slava Klishauskaite, studying at Peking University, recently dove into the heart of Beijing’s vibrant culture. From savoring the famous Peking duck to wandering through the historic hutongs and admiring the blooming flowers, her journey encapsulated the essence of the city’s rich heritage.

“Experiencing Beijing firsthand has been incredible,” Klishauskaite shared. “The food, the history, the people—everything has deepened my understanding of Chinese culture.”

This cultural exchange comes as 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. In honor of this milestone, Gen Z students from China and Russia are immersing themselves in each other’s cultures, strengthening ties between the two nations.

Klishauskaite emphasized the longstanding friendship between China and Russia. “Our countries have shared a close bond throughout history,” she said. “I hope we continue to collaborate in more areas beyond trade, technology, energy, and culture.”
