Russian Gen Z Hopes Xi’s Visit Will Strengthen China-Russia Ties

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow on Wednesday for a state visit to Russia and to attend celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory in the Great Patriotic War. This landmark visit comes at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin and highlights the growing ties between the two nations.

Philip Raev, a Generation Z graduate from the Department of Political Science at Saint Petersburg State University, shared his thoughts on the future of China-Russia relations. According to Raev, the academic exchanges and cooperation between China and Russia are especially significant for young people like himself.

“There’s a lot of collaboration happening in universities and research institutions,” Raev said. “This visit by President Xi will definitely boost our partnership and open up more opportunities for students and young professionals in both countries.”

He emphasized that stronger ties could lead to more exchange programs, joint research projects, and cultural understanding. “It’s an exciting time for us,” he added. “We are the future, and enhanced cooperation will shape a better world for our generation.”

President Xi’s visit is seen as a move to deepen the strategic partnership between China and Russia, focusing on areas such as education, technology, and cultural exchange. For young people in both countries, this could mean more chances to learn from each other and collaborate on global challenges.

As the world watches, the renewed commitment between China and Russia could have a significant impact on international relations, with the younger generation playing a pivotal role in shaping the future.
